Time4Learning Review, From a New Homeschooling Mom

Happy Monday! We are now over a month into our new homeschooling journey -time is flying! I wanted to do a little review of our core curriculum choice, Time4Learning, for those who have been considering joining, from the perspective of a newbie homeschooling mom!

First, let’s discuss a quick overview of Time4Learning. Time4Learning is an online education program for PreK-12th grade. Time4Learning curriculum is secular and includes all of the core subjects (Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts) plus offers elective options. Pricing is $19.95 per month for grade PreK-8th, $14.95 per month for each additional student, and $30 per month for 9th-12th grade per student. Elective options are an additional fee.

Now for my review, please note these opinions are entirely of my own. Being a new homeschooling family at first I was quite overwhelmed and nervous. Landon is a kinesthetic learner, and I was unsure if Time4Learning would be too much screen time for us and not enough hands-on learning experience, however after being recommended by quite a few people we decided to give it a try.

So far, I have found Time4Learning to be very user-friendly. The parent portal took a huge weight off this newbies shoulders, and I was easily able to create a full-year lesson plan in a matter of minutes for all of our core subjects. I chose to supplement a little with our ELA and add to the Time4Learning program with a different religious-based curriculum, however, Time4Learning also has its own ELA supplemental curriculum available already included in the standard monthly price. There is also a parent support Facebook group that has been beyond helpful!

I am happy to report Landon is doing very well following our Time4Learning curriculum and my doubts were quickly erased once we started the program. First, since I control the lesson plan, I can limit the number of assignments per day therefore I am able to limit the amount of screen time he is having which was very important for us when looking through programs. Secondly, there are so many hands-on activities included in the curriculum which is exactly what we needed. Below you can see Landon creating a boat for a lesson in Properties of Matter and creating a clay Olmec colossal head while learning about the Olmec Civilization.

Overall, we are both very happy with our experience with Time4Learning this far. I believe this is a great curriculum to follow for seasoned and new homeschooling families, however especially for the newbies like me! This program definitely has made our transition much smoother and we are excited to continue it.

As a member of Time4Learning, I have been given the opportunity to review their program and share my experiences. While I was compensated, this review was not written or edited by Time4Learning and my opinion is entirely my own.
